Where are you based?
I live in Stroud, Gloucestershire, UK
We’re getting married abroad. Will you travel?
What kind of style of photography can we expect from you?
My background is in Fine Art Photography. I graduated with a 1st Class Hons from Nottingham Trent in 2008
As a result my style is very much informed by contemporary fine art photography, classic documentary, cinema and fashion. I always have an eye on what’s going on in popular culture and take inspiration from these areas. When photographing a wedding you can expect me to be very much in documentary photographer mode and taking more time for considered portraits.
How do we secure our date with you?
I ask for a 25% non refundable booking fee and a signed digital agreement
How and when do we receive our photographs?
No rush with this. These are your wedding photographs and will be with you for life. The editing and processing is one of the lengthiest parts of the process. I want to create a beautifully edited and processed collection of photographs for you and this takes time.
I’m out on the road much of the time taking photographs and during peak season can be away from the office for up to 3-4 days a week.
Allow at least 3 months for the delivery of your final collection. I will always contact you once work on your edit begins.
How long should we allow for couple portraits on the day?
I always recommend putting aside about an hour for these. I like to keep to one area rather than using different locations, this keep your images looking uniform and natural with colours and light.
What time of the day is best for these?
This can all depend on the time of the year that you’re getting married and where. The further North we are in the middle of summer and the sun can be high in the sky for hours creating harsh unflattering shadows and washed out colours. I’ll always recommend waiting until the sun starts to drop and the shadows lengthen.
At this time the light is warmer, richer and much more flattering.
How do we get the best out of you on the day?
I’m very much an art documentary photographer and I do all of my best work when I’m left to my own devices without a set list of shots or expectations of what the final collection will look like and contain. Rest assured that I have a mental check list and always consult with you over group photographs and important people before the wedding. The rest of the time I like to concentrate on freely creating the most exciting and beautiful images that I can for you.
Copyright? What’s the deal here?
All photographers automatically retain copyright of their photographs by law and grant licenses for the use of images.
Your wedding photographs will be fully licensed to you for life for private use to print and share with friends and family.
Do you have back up kit?
Yes I do. I use Pro level Canon 5D Mkiii with back up bodies and L series lenses.
Yes, I’m fully insured
Do you supply RAW files?
No I’m afraid not. The RAW files are the underdeveloped digital negatives. They need to be edited and processed and supplied to you as Jpeg files.
A large part of the finished product is created during the editing and processing and much of my style is achieved in this part of the process.
