Destination Wedding Photographer | Paros, Greece | Kat + Jules
Greek Island Destination Wedding
One of the most rewarding aspects of being a Destination Wedding Photographer is the people that you meet and the party’s and celebrations you’re invited to be a part of, especially when a friendship group invite you back numerous times to document their special occasions.
I’d met Kat & Jules on the wild rainy rock of Lundy Island, Devon whilst photographing Marika & Sam’s wedding in 2017.
Sitting next to them in the islands only pub, nursing hangovers from the incredible wedding party the day before we started up the conversation.
Not long after they were in touch and asking me to fly out to photograph their destination wedding on the island of Paros, Greece.
What an epic weekend it turned out to be. It was one of those weddings where every face wore a permanent grin, friends and family travelled in from around the globe to celebrate and party.
Kat, Jules and their families are the most incredibly welcoming and generous hosts. The wedding was held at Kat’s parents villa with the traditional Greek ceremony in front of the family’s own private chapel with breathtaking views over the sea.
Searing afternoon heat turned into a wild and boozy party night. Yes, Zorba The Greek was played! The priest and grandma danced, the groom serenaded the bride like a rock star and the dance floor was permanently on fire.
Leaving the villa as the rising sun started to illuminate the edges of the distant hills, I was exhausted, happy and elated at having been invited along to such an epic wedding.
Editing their photographs here into a story has been almost impossible. I could create one hundred different versions but I’ve settled for some of my favourites.
Thanks again Kat & Jules for having me along and letting me join in the fun. I enjoyed every single wild sweaty minute of it x
